The Order of the Tygers Combatant (OTC) is an Order of High Merit for rattan combat, awarded to those who have distinguished themselves by prowess at armored combat, whether by attaining a standard of excellence such as makes them noteworthy in the eyes of the Kingdom, or by attempting more than one weapons form and, while not attaining mastery in any one, surpassing competence in several; and through demonstrated service to the armored combat community, such as by marshaling, teaching, or promoting and expanding the knowledge of armored combat.
The Order was established October 9 A.S. 11, 1976, by Laeghaire and Ysabeau II, revised May 31 A.S. 50, 2015, by Omega V and Etheldreda IV, and revised July 17 A.S. 57, 2022, by Ryouko'jin and Indrakshi.
The Orders of High Merit are "polling orders": the Crown must consult the companions of the order via a written poll before granting the award.
Titles
The Order of the Tygers Combattant includes a Grant of Arms if the recipient does not already bear a Patent or Grant of Arms.
Prior to January, 2016 during the reign of Brennan II and Caoilfhionn II, this award included an Award of Arms if the recipient did not already bear a Patent, Grant, or Award of Arms.
