PERSONA

Stefania, the daughter of a prosperous merchant and a village healer, was born in a small alpine village nestled at the base of snow-capped peaks. Her childhood was marked by a love of the winter landscape, where she spent her days skiing through snow-laden forests and helping her mother tend to the sick and injured. These early experiences instilled in her a sense of practicality, resilience, and compassion.

Stefania’s path to court began unexpectedly. At eighteen, her father took her to a nearby city to negotiate trade agreements. Her sharp mind, quick wit, and ability to navigate the complexities of trade caught the attention of a passing noblewoman who was traveling back to court. The noblewoman, impressed by Stefania’s composure and resourcefulness, invited her to join the queen’s retinue, sensing her potential for greatness.

INTRODUCTION

Stefania’s journey began near the hallowed grounds of Pennsic, where she first encountered the vibrant medieval world of the SCA. Though her time in that region was at an end, the experience left a lasting impression, igniting her passion for history, community, and the arts of war and play.

After relocating to the picturesque East Kingdom, Stefania sought out the Shire of Mountain Freehold, eager to reconnect with the camaraderie and shared love of the Middle Ages she had found near Pennsic. The warm welcome and strong community spirit of the Shire inspired her to become an active participant, eventually taking on the role of the shire’s Thrown Weapons Marshal. Here, she has continued to develop her skills, both in the art of the blade and in fostering a thriving community of like-minded individuals.

As a Marshal in Charge, Stefania has overseen and coordinated numerous TW activities at local events, ensuring they uphold the highest standards of safety and sportsmanship. Her dedication extends beyond her home shire; she has lent her expertise to neighboring groups, such as assisting with marshalling at Coldwood, and at Pennsic, where she has deepened her knowledge, collaborate with fellow marshals, and contribute to the success of this grand gathering.

Stefania reflects a deep commitment to community, learning, and shared pursuits. She is a social and community-minded individual, often organizing gatherings to unite her neighbors or volunteering to support the well-being of the village.

Stefania is a harmonious blend of practicality and joy, resilience and warmth, embodying the values of connection, craftsmanship, and service.
