Introduction
Rafi al-Qasid was a mamluk of Emir An-Nasir Yursuf the Ruler of modern Syria from 1236–1260, until the fall of Aleppo in 1260. after the fall of Aleppo and Damascus. He traveled to the Iberian peninsula. Having no knowledge of his family or personal history before his time at the Cairo Citadel on the headlands of the Mokattam hills over looking the city. He felt it best to travel and find a new home.
