Majster Nikoslav "Slav" Mikolaevich OD, OP (They/Them).

Nicknames: Nik, Slav

Nikoslav was born into the SCA and attended their first event when they were just one month old. They have lived in the kingdoms of Atlantia, Calontir, and Meridies, and currently reside in the East Kingdom in the Barony of Endewearde in Northwestern Maine. Nikoslav began modern fencing at the age of eight and grew up practicing various martial arts. They started fencing in the SCA in 2014. Their martial interests include Rapier, Cut and Thrust, Harnischfechten, Heavy Combat, and Throwing Weapons. In addition to martial pursuits, Nikoslav participates in Arts and Sciences (A&S), focusing on late-period bone and antler carving, leatherworking, bread-related baking projects, brewing mead, metal casting, and various macabre or memento mori crafts.

Persona

Nikoslav was born in 1569 in the city of Vilnius, located in the then Grand Duchy of Lithuania. He was the son of a Lithuanian father and a Ruthenian mother. His father was a member of the Szlachta in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and served in the Lithuanian Sejm.

After the Union of Lublin led to the formation of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Nikoslav joined the military and eventually attained the rank of Rotmistras. In 1586, following the death of King Stefan Batory and the resulting Royal Election, Nikoslav supported Maximilian III during the Polish War of Succession. After Maximilian III was defeated in the war, Nikoslav, like much of the army, fled to the Holy Roman Empire. He spent several years there before traveling to England, where he currently resides and serves in the English military.
