Introduction

I live in the Barony of Carillion and discovered the SCA in the spring of 2023. My first experience in the SCA was the Waking of the Salamander in Bhakail, and I've been trying to go to as many events as I can and do as many things as possible since then, although I'm a little hampered by lack of transportation.

I'm excited about heavy fighting (especially melee), a variety of crafts (the current list is bobbin lace, tablet weaving, sewing, wire weaving, and wire jewelry), service (I started out just really enjoying picking things up and putting things down, but I'm starting to branch out into more involved jobs now), the overall SCA atmosphere and pageantry (I love court!), and picking up more hobbies.

Projects & Publications

I make 16th century bobbin lace! Here are some of my pattern write-ups and photos. Feel free to contact me with any questions!

In other random skills it might be useful to note, I'm from Poland and am happy to help people translate/research things in Polish if needed.

Persona

I don't have one yet (or a proper name or device) - hopefully I'll settle on an idea sometime soon, making decisions is hard...

In Case of Court

I'd like a surprise if possible! My knight, chatelaine or baroness will generally know which events I'm going to. I'm an unsuspicious person and you can probably ask me a lot of related questions without me figuring out what's going on.

Nika is pronounced Nee-kah. I haven't decided on a persona gender yet, and any pronouns are fine, but for titles I prefer the gender-neutral variant.

I love abstract/geometric/leafy patterns and swords; my favorite color combination is blue+gold+black. Text-wise I like feudal and community themes, and simple old-fashioned phrasing or Norse poetry.
