Merlin, Thoroughbred, was owned and loved by Baron Duncan Kerr. Also loved and missed by Mistress Eleanor fitzPatrick.

History

Merlin was a beloved Eastrealm Warhorse who carried his rider to victory on the tournament field numerous times in his career. His owner Duncan Kerr claimed the honor of Eighth King's Champion of Horse in partnership with Merlin (see King's and Queen's Equestrian Champions). Merlin also carried Ankara lig Nikki to victory as Fifth Queen's Champion of Horse.

"I rode Merlin at my first King's and Queen's Equestrian Champions in 2006. He was the horse of the sitting Champion, and I worried whether I'd ride him well enough, but he had a set idea of how to do the work in front of him and he got me through it despite myself. He was so smart and he was very clear on how he thought things should be. An amazing horse." - Doucette de Verdun

Merlin succumbed to cancer in September, 2007. His exact age was unknown, our best estimate is that he was between 25 and 30 at the time of his passing.
