Introduction

I began my SCA history at Kingdom Twelfth Night in the Barony of Roaring Wastes in the Middle Kingdom in 1990 and haven't looked back since. Shortly thereafter I helped to re-found the Shire of Fearann na Críche in the Middle Kingdom and served as the group's Chronicler and first Web Minister. I was granted my Award of Arms for these services at Spring Faire in 1996. I also served as the Deputy Kingdom Webminister For Compliance for the Middle Kingdom and was the first Pentamere Regional Webminister. In 2001 I moved to the East Kingdom and helped establish the Shire of Old Stonebridges (formerly Nordenfjord) in 2012. I served as the shire's Webminister and Deputy Seneschal before becoming Kingdom Webminister, where I spent 4 years with an awesome team to update our systems and provide a pleasant online experience for everyone.

Persona

Born in 1080, Matthias is a fourth son of minor Franconian nobility who, having no better prospects, took up arms with the overland march of the First Crusade. He fought at the Battle of Dorylaeum and was wounded, and now works as a scribe and translator in the Latin Quarter of Constantinople.

Relationships

Matthias is formerly a protegé of Maistir Mael Eoin mac Echuid, having exchanged oaths of fealty at Pennsic XLVI, a relationship they still maintain.

Matthias is also married to Magnifica Arabella De Mere.
