Introduction
Margarette la Gantiere (Mar-gar-ette la Gan-ter-ie),(she/her), joined the SCA in June of 2022 and resides in the Barony of Bhakail. Her primary interests are in the Scribal Arts, millinery, embroidery, tablet weaving and garb making. A scholar at heart, she loves all things research related. She dabbles in ceramics and hopes to explore the art of glove making.
Persona
I am a bit of a cultural nomad. My primary persona is Mid 14th century French: Margarette la Gantiere spent her childhood in Milau France. Her family were cheese makers and glovers. She became a skilled glove maker and embroideress. Curious and intelligent, Margarette Married Maître Gantiere a merchant, with whom she traveled widely. Widowed in 1465 while in Paris, she set up a small but successful shop selling gloves and embroidered wares to the nobility. I am however, currently exploring garb for the Merovingian Dynasty to establish an early period French persona. I am also working on Mongolian archer's garb to match my archery shooting style.
