Announcement
The dread King Konrad, having braved the terrors of fireswamps and cliffs of insanity, avoiding getting involved in land wars in Asia, defeating Spaniards with steel, giants with strength, and Sicilians even with Death being on the line, has come forward in a most inconceivable manner to declare that the film Princess Bride is period during the duration of the reign, in support of the King of Northshield.
As such, all documentation based upon the Princess Bride, be it cited by men with six fingers on the right hand, or ladies with perfect breasts, or the owners of rodents of unusual size, or any less or more colorful characters, is hereby period.
Let any man who may stand against this declaration hear the fearsome cry...his name is King Konrad von Ulm…you have insulted his brother…prepare to die!
As you wish, this sixth day of November, AS 44...
So it is decreed.

Poetry
King Konrad Hears Evening Song
Hear the bright hope of Eastern hearts.
Hoarfrost fleeing as sun returns.
Trust this talesmith -- the blossoms grow.
Green shoots vying for gleaming sun,
seeking new bright Spring.
But balance hope with truth well-known:
no man prevails against time's arc.
Eastern King hears his evening song.
Sets his fierce heart on Summerlands.
Elegy shall ring.
But sorrow not my Eastern kin –
clear the heart's path to Tir na Nog.
No parting lasts forever more.
Mighty Konrad will live again.
Go his praises sing.
For bold Konrad was best of men.
Mighty and wise, well-traveled king.
Keen-eyes weighed well the hearts of men.
Remember man of Tyger's heart.
He was a good king.

The Rose of Courtesy
I first will talk of the Tyger’s King
the utter law of this Eastern Land,
no noble would think to deny him a thing
and armies march at his command;
but one lady alone can stay his hand
and soften the King’s most stern decree,
he’ll gladly yield to his wife so grand,
for the Queen is the keeper of courtesy
Courtesy o’er the realm will rule
the whole worlde holds this virtue dear,
the noble knights at every duel,
and laurels when teaching need it near.
The Pelicans must its purpose adhere
or all service will unwanted be
but first and foremost amongst the peers
the rose is regal in courtesy
Of the rose of courtesy now hear:
the bright-eyed duchess, Brenwen the fair
patient and kind, truly a peer
she well o’er the tyger’s Kingdom cared
with her hands she’d hew out tokens rare
to offer thanks for artistry.
Brenwen’s honor is beyond compare,
She is the fairest flower of courtesy
