Greetings and welcome to the Barony of Ruantallan!

We, Hugh Thegn of Ruantallan and Baroness Aveline d’Amiens, wish to welcome you to the Society of Creative Anachronism where we research and recreate all the best parts of the Middle Ages!

Hugh first heard of the SCA when he saw a demonstration on Breakfast Television back in the 1990s. It was not until the return of Halcon in 2008 at the Lord Nelson that we found the SCA again and were immediately drawn to the fighting and costuming. We have both held positions on the local Curias in that time. Hugh’s interests are in rattan fighting, brewing, metal and leather working, while Aveline enjoys costuming, heralding court, singing with the choir and spending time on the archery field. We both enjoy spending time with others at events, participating in activities and seeing what others are working on. At camping events, we can be found with our dog Brutus, who also enjoys wearing his garb and socializing with the populace.

As Thegn and Baroness, we hope to celebrate Ruantallan and encourage pride in our region. After all, we are Ruan-Talented. Come and visit us at the end of the earth, beyond here there be monsters!
