Introduction
I am Laureata Fiore Leonetta Bardi (Fee-oh-re / Leh-oh-neht-tah / Bahr-di) also known as Fiore di Bardi (she/her). I am currently Baronessa di Carolingia. I am primarily a researcher of life in 16th-century Florence but truly three of me exist -- Fiore, the persona, Fiore's Tailor, and the historian researching both. I (the tailor) specialize in Florentine dress from the mid-1560s to ~1590, hand sewing, and embroidery. My area of interest (as the historian) includes research of life as a woman in pursuit of legitimacy in Florence, research into people of African descent in Florence, the Florentine Camerata, artifacts and practices for a noblewoman of this time -- including the practice of hunting and falconry in Florence, and Florentine textiles. I (Fiore) also try to learn the behaviors and manner of the woman I would have been then which includes dance, target archery, and many intellectual pursuits. Fiore also functions within the SCA which is a time and place of its own.

Pronunciation
Persona
Fiore Leonetta Bardi was born in 1550, the illegitimate daughter of Giovanni Bardi, Count of Florence and Lucrezia Guarini, a noblewoman of mixed race and musician in the Court of Ferrara. She lives as a ward of her father's court and achieved a Laurea* in music and letters within the Florentine Camerata. Fiore Leonetta Bardi is best known to history for her numerous violations of Florentine sumptuary law as relates to apparel and the frequency with which her father was called before the Medici court on her behalf. It is rumored that Fiore di Bardi was secretly married to a German and may have given birth to a child of that union. The origin and veracity of these claims remain unknown, however, it is extremely unlikely that Signorina Fiore would have had to resort to such a union given her maternal dowry in the amount of 8000 florins.
Fiore di Bardi was made legitima naturalis by Papal Rescript (by Papa Caer Galinus Anne Bigod) just prior her elevation to the Order of the Laurel in Anno Societatis LV.
- The Laurea was (and is in modern times) the designation of the end of formal education, in 16th century Florence few women received the honor. Allowing Fiore to achieve the Laurea is a way to bridge the Persona to the SCA in light of my elevation to the Laurel.
