This is my study of how to recreate techniques used in certain bobbin lace samples at the MET. At this stage I was studying the threads and methods used, not re-creating the actual patterns.
I took a pattern out of "Le Pompe, 1559 Patterns for Venetian bobbin lace" and used it to practice the sizes, stitches, varieties of threads and pattern working. I used white linen in the originals, and silk and metallic gold in the challenge which involved repeating a project in a different medium.
