Investiture of Wilhelm & Vienna
Investiture of Count Wilhelm and Contessa Vienna Brigantia calls Wilhelm von Ostenbrucke and Vienna de la Mer into court and calls all Royal Peers to bear Witness
King Ozurr speaks to the virtues of Wilhelm
Queen Fortune speaks to the virtues of Vienna.
Brigantia (or either the King or Queen): “Wilhelm and Vienna, do you swear to protect the people of the East. Will you defend the defenseless and aid those in need? Do you swear to uphold the laws of the East and the Society? Will you defend the rights of the people, of all stations, under these laws?”
W&V: We so swear.
Ozurr and Fortune call for the County Coronets. They hold them in front of Wilhelm and Vienna and say:
Ozurr & Fortune: “Wilhelm and Vienna, do you further swear to uphold the dignity and responsibilities of your rank. To use this station and the privilege it confers wisely and justly. To counsel your Monarchs in times of peace and raise armies and artisans to defend and inspire your Kingdom in times of war?”
W&V: We so swear.
Ozurr & Fortune: “I, Ozurr, and I, Fortune, King and Queen of the East do hereby name you Count Wilhelm von Ostenbrucke and Contessa Vienna de la Mer, with all the rights and responsibilities that pertain to this rank.”
Vivats are given
Brigantia calls the Order of the Rose in (I believe Duchess Kiena is running point on the ceremony)
O&F call for the speakers;

Any regalia is bestowed.
Wilhelm and Vienna will provide their joint oath of fealty after the Rose Ceremony.
O&F call Duchess Luna, Duchess Kiena, and Sir Donnan forward for Wilhelm and Vienna’s purification and unity observance, then Wilhelm and Vienna will swear fealty – he on the Bloodguard sword of state, Vienna on Justice.
Coronation Script
Coronation Ceremony of Ozurr and Fortune W&V conclude their business. They invite in the Prince of Tir Mara. Treannah invites Ozurr into court. Ozurr processes in.
From my research: The doge took part in ducal processions, which started in the Piazza San Marco. The doge would appear in the center of the procession, preceded by civil servants ranked in ascending order of prestige and followed by noble magistrates ranked in descending order of status. As such, I think Ozurr should be accompanied by people who will be part of his retinue, and at the center of said processional.
W&V – “Your Highness, we are feeling the years upon us, and our time has come to an end. Will you take up the mantle of leadership, and become King of the East?” Ozurr – “I will, Your Majesties.”
V – “Before you can become the King of the East, there is another matter to be reconciled. You have something that will need to be passed on to another.” Ozurr removed the Queen’s champion regalia.
V – “This will be for your consort to pass on.” Ozurr – “I understand.”
W&V – “Will you take up the mantle of leadership, and become King of the East?” Ozurr kneels before W. W takes off the crown (and either passes it to someone behind him to make a swap, or uses it to crown Ozurr). W – “I recognize your right to the crown. I crown you as King of the East.”
Ozurr arises. Malcolm – “For Ozurr, King of the East!” Vivants ensue.
V removes her crown. – “Your Majesty, no King can rule alone. It is time that your consort join you.”
Malcolm – “His Majesty would request the presence of Fortune, Princess of Tir Mara!”
Nothing happens. Pause. Repeat. Malcolm – “His Majesty would request the presence of Fortune, Princess of Tir Mara!”
Still nothing. Bafflement and befuddlement for a moment on stage. V – “Your Majesty, you seem to be a Princess short.”
Ozurr – “That I do. I wonder where she could be?”
W – “Perhaps, before we depart for our country estate, we can do you the service of finding your Princess.”
Ozurr – “That would be much appreciated. Do not go too far, we will have some business with you both.”
As they depart, Malcolm says, “For Wilhelm and Vienna!” Vivants ensue.
Improv searching around the stage and front of the hall for Fortune. When that produces no results, Oscar unveils the bridge. It is moved into position by him and his stagehands.* Ozurr stands atop the bridge once it is in place.
“Fortune, Oh Fortune…wherefore art thou, good Fortune?”
Trumpet or A booming herald. Fortune is announced. She is then brought in atop Oscar’s gondola to Laila’s music.
- Ozurr steps down from the Bridge, and helps Fortune off the Gondola. “Oh good, I thought I was going to have to do this all alone for a moment there.”
- Fortune – “I had to make a dramatic entrance, of course. In style!”
Someone, (probably Malcolm) passes Ozurr the crown. Ozurr - “Your Highness, my Princess, will you take up the mantel of leadership, and become Queen of the East.”
Fortune – “I will, Your Majesty.”
Ozurr places the crown on Fortune’s head. Ozurr – “I crown you as Queen of the East.”
Malcolm – “For Fortune, Queen of the East!” Vivants ensue.
“Your Majesties, the East has a few customs and traditions.” Someone (Probably Yehuda or Zippy) passes Malcolm the box of dirt. “This dirt is from the grounds where the very first tournament in our society was held. Please place your hands atop the reliquary. Will you swear upon this hallowed earth that you will lead our Kingdom with justice, honor, and glory, in peace or in war?” Ozurr and Fortune “We will.”
Malcolm passes the dirt to an assistant.
Ozurr takes a coin, and tosses it into the “water” beside the gondola. “With this coin, we wed ourselves to thee, Kingdom of the East, as a sign of true and everlasting sovereignty.” Someone passes Malcolm the ampule. He holds up the vessel. “This is an ampoule of water from The Bay of the Mistlands, from which the society originated in the Kingdom of the West.” Either Ozurr and Fortune kneel, or Malcolm steps atop the bridge to pantomime the anointing. “Water is life, and as the West was the birthplace of our society, we would anoint our new king and queen as a symbol of rebirth and a new reign with this water.”
Ozurr and Fortune make their way towards the thrones, but before they take a seat, as Malcolm says – “My Lords and Ladies, Their Majesties would make a request of you. While the dirt from the first list field of the society and the ampule of water from the Bay of the Mists are an important part of this ceremony, Their Majesties recognize that it is YOU who truly make them the Crown the of East. As Witnesses to their Coronation, do you, members of the Eastern Populace present this day, recognize Ozurr and Fortune as your King and Queen?”
Malcolm - “Long may you rule! People of the East, I give you King Ozurr and Queen Fortune! Long Live the King! Long Live the Queen! Long live the Kingdom of the East!” Ozurr & Fortune sit upon their thrones.
Malcolm – “Their Majesties would call before them their Greater Officers of State!”
The Greater officers come forward. They swear a mass oath.
Zippy or Yehuda, whomever is behind the throne while Malcolm joins the Great Officers: “For the greater officers of state, and the service they do for the Kingdom!” The people vivat.
Malcolm - “Their Majesties call before them their landed Barons and Baronesses, and the Viceroy and Vicerine of Ostgardr.
Runnymede come forward. They swear a mass oath.
Malcolm - “For their Excellencies, and the service they do holding the lands in the name of the crown!” The people vivat.
Ozurr and Fortune say a few words.
Malcolm - “There being no further business, herein closes the Court of their Majesties, Ozurr and Fortune. Long live the King! Long live the Queen! Long live the People of the East!”
