Description

Coronation is held in the Spring and Fall, to elevate the kingdom Heirs to Sovereigns. It is one of the events that is referred to in Corpora as being required for royals to attend, in order for their reigns to be officially recognized.

The overall schedule of the day is usually:

Morning Court (aka Last Court)

Coronation Ceremony

Sitting in State

Afternoon Court (aka First Court)

Other activities may be added, depending on the preferences of the royals, the event staff, and the hosting branch.

Dates and Terms

Spring Coronation usually happens in the first two weeks of April.

Fall Coronation usually happens the last weekend of September or first weekend of October.

The Heirs usually hold those titles for about 5 months before their Coronation.

The Sovereigns usually hold those titles for about 6 months until the subsequent Coronation. This is unofficially referred to as "de-Coronation".

On the day of Coronation, there are two sets of Sovereigns, so they are often referred to unofficially as the "outgoing royals" and "incoming royals".

Ordos

The 'script' for a coronation ceremony is often referred to as an "ordo" (pl. "ordines"), which is the academic term for coronation ceremonies in Britain. There is no official ordo for the East Kingdom.

Copies of past ordos are being collected and made available here. Please upload ones that are missing.
