Mundane update: Traumatic Brain Injury In 2015, while teaching at a residential/hospitalization facility, a student had a behavioral outburst and a social studies book flying across the room to dance with the back of my head. I wasn't able to walk/talk for 3 weeks following the incident. 3+ years of rehab, home exercises, time and I'm at my "new norm". I earned back the privilege to drive. I may just tool around town, but that little bit of freedom means everything. I walk with a cane due to balance issues. I have short-term memory issues. My brain tires out easily. After 2-3 hours I usually need a nap. I start to verbally stutter when I'm tired. You can't miss it. But I am very proud of how hard I worked and were I am now.
