Alfonso Pontelli “Melee OGR - Guardian of the Bridges”. For years the Pontelli family have guarded the Bridges of Great Grampa Pontelli. As all roads lead to Rome - there are many bridges. Invaders from many lands have seen the blade of Alfonso, though some did not see until it was too late. DFB’s are essential when outnumbered.
Fashion and weapons reflect the numerous styles of the invaders, as such Alfonso has an Eclectic collect of wares & weapon’s, with a unique brawler fighting style with a little Capo Ferro sprinkled in.
The family tradition will live on as Alfonso has trained the youth of the populace for over 10 years. Youth fencing is one of Alfonso's passions.
Currently, his Cadet (Arabella) is off in a foreign land learning new styles.
As with all well organized units the supply lines are key. Alfonso’s Lady - Stephanie Pontelli has been instrumental in keeping the family fed and the children safe.
Stephanie’s support has been essential for the last 20 years and she is the Backbone of the Pontelli family.

- Pennsic Youth Rapier Marshal in Charge - numerous years
- Sponsored and organized the first Youth Rapier Pennsic Castle Melee/Battle (2014) for all age groups
- Organized several youth fencing events/tournaments throughout the East - such as at War of the Roses & Birka.
Projects & Publications & Passion
- My passion is Youth Fencing, Youth Combat, & Teaching Kids
- There is no greater joy in a Melee than being hunted down by 3 of your fellow students. (Other than beating then all, if you can convince then to give you single combat)
- Assisted in reworking Youth Fencing Rules - Advocate for including 16-17 year olds in all adult fencing activities.
