Persona

Ulrich van Kathen was born in Northern Germany bordering the Netherlands. He grew up in Northern Germany until his teens, studying German literature and swordsmanship. The son of a merchant, he traveled with his father to Japan at the height of the Nanban Trade Period. He quickly adopted the culture and language and assimilated into Japanese life. He studied swordsmanship of Japan and the way of the Samurai.
