Royal Round

The East Kingdom Thrown Weapons Royal Round incorporates and aligns with the Standard TW Royal Round, currently in use in 11 kingdoms. Matteo Genovese led the creation of the interkingdom standard royal round, with help from many other marshals in the East and other kingdoms.

A Standard Thrown Weapons Royal Round consists of 10 throws each for axes, knives, or spears -- 5 at close range, and 5 at long range. The target consists of three concentric circles -- the innermost circle (3” diameter) is worth 5 points, the middle circle (8” diameter) is worth 3 points, and the outer circle (14” diameter) is worth 1 point. Each weapon type is scored separately, so to submit a score a thrower only needs to do one type of weapon, though they can choose to submit scores for more than one weapon if they would like. All equipment and throwing line rules of the SCA and the East Kingdom apply.

Each thrower may submit one score each day for each weapon type. Scores expire after two years. Each thrower's top three scores for each weapon form are averaged and the three scores aggregated for their Royal Round Ranking; rankings are recalculated monthly.
