Chatelaine

Introduction

Sybill started in the SCA about 15 years ago when introduced by a friend, but due to issues beyond her control, she had to stop playing.

Now back, with more time to focus on her favorite hobby, She has immersed herself into the society after only being back for a year. Sybill has taken on the duties of deputy chatelaine, which we all know just means she likes meeting new people and talking their ear off about the society. Teaching embroidery classes and helping teach others how to sew their own garb has also become a passion for her.

Persona

Sybill comes from a family of well-versed tailors in London. Born circ 1495, she grew up during the height of King Henry VIII reign. Her parents cared very much for her and could afford a proper education with tutors. Though the school hours were long, Sybill soaked up as much info as they could teach her with her trusted corgis at her side. At the age of 14, she began to apprentice for her father in their dress shop, excelling in embellishment of her father’s clothes and accessories.

When an epidemic of smallpox spread through London, Sybill was sent to Stockholm , Sweden with her corgis to further her apprenticeship with distant relatives from her mothers side. There she began to witness the events of the Swedish independence from the Danish. After 10 years in Sweden, she returned home barely missing the Stockholm Bloodbath[1].
