Society Wide Guild

A society wide guild is a guild that exists in more than one kingdom at a time. Society wide guilds may or may not qualify for recognition by the crown in their kingdom of formation or any kingdom at all. They function to unite students of a particular subject who live across Society in an exchange of information and ideas. For arts and sciences where local interest may be low, society wide guilds connect artesans and scientists who study the same art or science together, facilitating research and help with projects that otherwise would not be possible.

Many guilds that start off as kingdom level guilds become society wide guilds due to the lack of a particular area of study being available in particular area.

Ultimately, Society wide guilds function much the same as traditional local and kingdom level guilds--except at greater distances and sometimes greater numbers. They also promote greater understanding across kingdoms and encourage friendships across kingdom borders.
