Introduction

Scolastica la souriete has been active in the SCA since 1983. She spent her first 14 years in the Society in Trimaris, then moved to the shire of Hartshorn-Dale in East Kingdom. During that 27 years of activity she used many names including Triste More, Triste Katharine More, Triste Cateline de la Mor, Cateline de la Mor, Cateline de la Mor la souriete and finally Scolastica la souriete. Over the years, she has published articles in SCA publications under most of these names.

Currently, she runs the Thirteenth Century Garb list at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/13thCentGarb . Oddly enough, Scolastica hates to sew; she just runs the group so that she can pick people's brains and share her own research on 13th century clothing.

Scolastica has been studying medieval and Renaissance naming practices since before 1989. She has been a member of the College of Arms and still does name consultations when she can.

Scolastica's current favorite SCA pastime is spinning and studying medieval spinning. What started as a quick pickup craft for demos has turned into a positive obsession.
