Introduction

Sarah Davies joined the SCA in 1989. She has served the Barony of Bergental as chronicler, Minister of Arts and Sciences, Luminary, and jill-of-all-work.

Sarah's primary focus of study is pre-1600 European quilting, patchwork, and applique. Her pioneering research in these areas led to her being admitted to the Order of the Maunche in 1996, and becoming the SCA's first Laurel for quilting in 2006. She is also an accomplished dyer in silk and linen, an acceptable illuminator, a beginning knitter, and sings alto in Concentus, the baronial choir.

She dwells happily in Bergental with enough books to choke a horse, far more fabric than she can use, over 100 quilting books, and a cat named Malfoy.
