Activities

Rosina's favorite things to do in the SCA are teaching and taking classes. Rosina has taught a number of classes on the history of mathematics in period. Most of these classes are on Fibonacci, the foremost Western European mathematician of the middle ages. Several of these classes are based on Fibonacci's 1202 book Liber Abaci, on arithmetic, extracting roots, and algebra. Another class is on Fibonacci's Book of Squares, and another on Fibonacci's Practical Geometry. Rosina has also written an article for the EK Gazette on Fibonacci. She has also taught a class on 3-D geometry in Renaissance art and science, as well as a class on applying modern classification techniques to period narrowwork designs. Rosina has also taught a number of classes on fingerloop braiding at the basic, intermediate and advanced levels. She has taught several multiperson fingerloop braiding classes with her lord, Andreiko Eferiev, and with Thyra Eiricksdottir and Jeanne de Robin. Rosina has also taught a class on kumihimo and a class on period drinking songs.

In addition to teaching and taking classes, Rosina enjoys running setup for events, dancing, singing, playing instruments including guitar, recorder and drums, thrown weapons, archery, knitting, and embroidery. She has also retained for Brenwen I, Alethea, Marguerite, and Thyra.

Victoria Sapko lives in east central Massachusetts with her husband and two cats in the best neighborhood on the planet.
