Introduction

Lord Ronan FitzRobert still has not figured what he wants to do when he grows up. He is an authorized fighter and fencer. He is a youth officer, a archery and thrown weapons Marshal. He has held positions within his Barony, his region and for the Kingdom. He has been an Event Steward, Feastocrat, and Pennsic Encampment Daddy. He has been involved in Blacksmithing, Brewing, Sewing, Embroidery, Wood Working and Leatherworking. He has been to too many Demos to list and was often one of the first people at an event and one of the last people to leave.

Persona

Ronan FitzRobert is a Native of Coleraine, Ireland. His father was a shipwright and he followed in his father's footsteps, building and later sailing his ships upon the seas. One on of his voyages, he was captured by Vikings and brought to Norway. Here his skills in boat building were put to use and he was a thrall for a boat builder in the Bryggen section of Bergan, Norway. He worked for years in the shadow of the Berganhus Fortress before being manumitted on the condition that he would move and not become a competitor of his former master. He travelled south to Avaldsnes where he opened his own business and soon prospered.

Origin

Ronan means 'little seal'. A child who has one foot in the water and one on land. My actual father Robert, worked in a shipyard on Long Island and we did build boats at home. I have been sailing since I was 7 and piloting not soon after. I joined the Navy after college and spent 13 years in Active and Reserve. So Ronan fits. And FitzRobert because Dad is Robert. Why Ireland, well, Mom was Irish so I have both parents in there. Why Viking, honestly, its easier to research the clothes and food of the time. I have been to Bryggen and Bergan and been to the ship museum there.
