My Lady Inspires my Sword and Shield

My lady’s work in art is a wond’rous thing
at pigments, pen, and brush does she excel
the thought of hours she spends on scrolls for the king
dwarfs to naught the time I spend at pell –
and when I tire, my doubts her faith will quell.
So it should be clear to all on Tourney Field
my lady’s art inspires my sword and shield
My lady's love is something rare and fine
for when I battle she is always there
and should I lose my way, wander in mind
the thought of her shall bring my will to bear
e’en when I am cold she warms me through her care
So it should be clear to all on Tourney Field
my lady’s love inspires my sword and shield
