Apprenticed to Mistress Elizabeth (Bess) Darnley at Herne the Hunter, A.S.48

Persona

Mergriet is a native of Brabant who moved to Antwerp as a child. Her father was a skilled migrant worker who saw Antwerp as a place that would hold better fortunes. Mergriet (AKA Griet) has lived there ever since, though as tensions rise in the city, she is now looking at either moving further north or over to England.

Her present place of residence is at the Eik en Zwijn: [1]

Offices & Positions

In the past I held onto long term positions of Webminister and Chronicler for Lyndhaven and was the Minister of Children for the Northern Shores area (now Tir Mara), I also filled in for many more temporary jobs and deputy positions within the shire of Lyndhaven.

Event Staff

I have co-ran many small events (Both Beast-Feasts, the Burgher event, some demos...) but mostly served as cook for feasts or dayboards at small events as well as the Northern Shores Warcamp (now Middleground) and Spring Crown.

Projects & Publications

Too many to remember them all, though I do presently update various webpages/blogs. Some more SCA related ones are these:

  • SCA Projects: [2]
  • Various little articles can be found here: [3]
  • And a little project involving translating Middle English Recipes into Modern English: [4]
