Introduction
I am Lady Matilda Fossoway, apprentice to Mistress Clothilde von der Insel
Persona
I am the daughter of a traveling fabric merchant. We came from Scotland and traveled to England. Where I saw many different ways the ladies wear their clothes. With the ends of fabric I would try and replicate what I saw. We traveled to Italy I found a wealthy husband. I lived with him for many years, sadly he passed away at an early age leaving me with his riches, I am able to travel the world. I enjoy making what I see on my travels.

Beaded Roses are one of my Favorite things to make. I have had the privilege to make some for a few Queens. Duchess Kiena Stewart, was given a bouquet of Blue and White rose. They are the color of Tir Mara. For Countess Fortune Sancte Keyne I made White roses for her Crown tournament. Each had a woven silk band which my friend Mairghread Huntley (molly). For Her majesty Margarita de Siena I had the great pleasure to make Purple with Gold single roses, a Blue and White bouquet. and a special bouquet which had her favorite flower Daisies. They all had silk bands made by Mairghread Huntley. I also made Red Roses for all the Lady of the Roses.
Sewing by hand is just plain FUN !!! I have made Garb for my friends and Family. I have sewn for a few Royals as well. Which truly is an Honor to do so. My Husband wears the Garb I've made him so proudly Even when I think it might not be so great. One of his favorites is a T tunic with his name embroidered on the bottom. The other is his Birka Cloak with Felted Dragons on it. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Illumination and Calligraphy is so much fun !!! Taking the time to find just the right thing to place on a scroll. Finding the words to go with it.
