Introduction

Duchess Marieke joined the SCA in 1979 in the Shire of Mountain Freehold, where she still dwells. She received her AoA in 1982, she reigned with Randall of the Dark in 1987, and she reigned with Lucan V in 1999-2000. She is a Pelican, a Laurel, and the third Tyger of the East.

Persona

Marieke van de Dal was once a Flemish wool merchant's daughter living in Bruges in the years following the Great Pestilence of the mid-1300's. Inexplicably, Marieke is now living in pre-Conquest Saxon England, in the area once known as Mercia. She has also been sighted in the Germania of Otto the Great, and in other locations that catch her interest.
