Lady Margreþa La Fauvelle spent her first years in the Society for Creative Anachronism as a resident of the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands in the Kingdom of [[Æthelmearc]], when she joined in AS 39. She served as Minister of Arts and Sciences for her Barony, Guest Editor for the A&S issue of the Althing, the Baronial newsletter, and head of the Debatable Consort. She was also a participant in the Debatable Choir, singing mostly alto but also covering tenor parts when needed, and had been chosen as Baronial Bard one week before she found out that she had to relocate to the Barony of Ayreton, [[Middle]] Kingdom, where she lived for a few years. There, she was involved with the Court and Country choral group, and she was involved with providing music for dancing, fanfares and Royal and Baronial courts.

Margreþa is a late 13th c.- early 14th c. Swedish court musician who lived in France for a number of years. There she was exposed to all sorts of fashionable musical styles. Sometimes she'll go on a time travel spree, mostly because of Thielman Susato and rauschpfeifen. As such, my preferred style and titles are in the Swedish language: Friherrinna (Baroness) Margreþa la Fauvelle, Mästarinna av laurelen (Mistress of the Laurel) but I will answer to pretty much anything, especially given that the French would insist speaking to me in French. During my tenure as The Sovereign's Bardic Champion, I have often referred to myself as Margreþa konungskald.

Bio

I spent my first years in the Society for Creative Anachronism as a resident of the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands in the Kingdom of Æthelmearc, when I joined in AS 39. I served as Minister of Arts and Sciences for my Barony, Guest Editor for the A&S issue of the Althing, the Baronial newsletter, and head of the Debatable Consort. I was also a participant in the Debatable Choir, singing mostly alto but also covering tenor parts when needed, and had been chosen as Baronial Bard one week before I found out that I had to relocate to the Barony of Ayreton, Middle Kingdom, where I lived for a few years. There, I was involved with the Court and Country choral group, and was also involved with providing music for dancing, fanfares and Royal and Baronial courts.

Persona

Current tidings

Now residing in the Barony of Settmour Swamp in the Southern Region of the East Kingdom and hoping never to move to another Kingdom again, I have played for dancers, Coronation ceremonies, fundraiser tourneys (ask me about Laurels VS. Pelicans sometime!), courts, fanfares and vigils, but most importantly just for the fun of playing with other people. I have been a warranted Webmistress, and like to fence when self-inflicted injuries do not prohibit it. I am the deputy band director for the Bhakaili Branslers, and am always eager to collaborate on period/historically informed performance projects.

Affiliations

Formerly apprenticed to Maistresse Sabine de Kerbriant.

I have taken two apprentices, Lord Phelippe le Vigneron of Settmour Swamp and The Honorable Lady Adelisa Salernitana of Buckland Cross.

I have accepted the honor to be fought for in the list field by His Excellency Baron Alexendre l'Espangol de Orlienz

In Case Of Court

In case of induction to a polling order, I am specifically requesting that the Crown will let the polling order know at the time of Their decision. I am ride dependent and schedule event attendance well in advance, so making certain that I am present for court is more important than being surprised. People to be notified beforehand involve my apprentices, Champion and my former Peer, as named elsewhere in this document.

Any recognition received in an Ethereal Court during the epoch of physical distancing is not by any means lessened for the manner which is received, and as such I am opting in to receive it should it please the Crown.

Awards and Recognitions

  • Comet Azure-Argent (BMDL A&S award, Byron and Ariella)
  • Harlequin (Bhakail A&S award, Rowen)
  • Order of the Troubadour (Edward III and Thyra II)

  • Order of the Sycamore (Æthelmearc AoA level/Order of Merit A&S award, Christopher II and Morgen II)

  • Order of the Laurel (Ivan and Matilde)
  • King's Award of Esteem (Wilhelm)
  • Court Barony (Wilhelm and Vienna)
  • King's Bardic Champion (Wilhelm, Ozurr)

My A&S edition of the Althing received a Sylvan Quill (Æthelmearc newsletter award) Honorary Mention, thus becoming eligible for a William Blackfox Award nomination, and the Debatable Consort received a Comet Azure-Argent while under my leadership.

Projects and Original Works

(not a complete list)
