Introduction
Joel is a resident of Vestfell Farmstead and husband of Aife ingen Chonchobair in Derthaige.
He originally started here largely to support his wife, of whom he is immensely proud. Formerly a protege to Mistress Lylie_of_Penhyll, clearly somewhere along the way this "Mundane-in-tow"(tm) failed a saving throw and was elevated to the Order of the Pelican.
When keeping out from under foot, he tends to be found in the kitchen. Beware of the sharp kitchen implements in his wake, they tend to be far sharper than you expect.
Persona
Joel isn't quite sure where or when he is from. Vague recollections of 12th Century western Germany (Worms) exist, but, alas, the amnesia has not yet abated.

Assistive Listening System
Starting in 2022 I designed and assembled what has become the East Kingdom's Assistive Listening System. The first system was turned over to the Kingdom at the Coronation of Tindal and Emerson in April of 2024. The Mid built their first system with my consultation in June/July of 2025, the project led by Sir Crispin dela Rochefoucauld. I'm currently working with Lord Timothy Nicholls of Atlantia to help craft a proposal for them to build their first system.
In Case of Court
If my presence is to be required in Court, please notify Aife ingen Chonchobair in Derthaige and please DO list me on any Court Summon issued. I'm not making it to many events these days and a summons will help ensure I'm there.
I am perfectly fine with the concept of receiving non-polled awards in an "Ethereal Court".
More Information
Joel (mka Joel) is mundanely an IT manager, and his non-SCA hobbies are tech at Science Fiction Conventions and theater sound design. He spent 8 years on the Board of Directors of the Theatre Association of New York State and is currently on the Board of Directors of Alpha Psi Omega, the National Theatre Honor Society. 4 years in a restaurant kitchen back in high school/early college have never really left his brain, and are the real source of his kitchen savvy and work ethic. He has a long-standing tendency toward being helpful, and a knack for delegation. He's finally finished his Master's Degree in Technology Management but is still digging out from under the backlog in his life created by two and a half years of neglecting everything else.
