Introduction

Jean De Montange is a 16th century Gascon privateer. He is, in fact, captain of the company of reprobates known as Woolfe's Privateers (see motto below).

Persona

He is a rake, a scalawag and a cheerfully insouciant poet. Despite these character flaws he has ended up a member of several distinguished orders; the Order of the Golden Rapier (he seems to get into fights a lot and mostly live through them) the Order of the Silver Crescent (because he is made to clean up the messes from all the fights) and the Queen's Order of Courtesy (because he was really, really sorry about that one thing and his apology was eloquent.) He's a member of the Order of the Troubadour as well (probably because of the insouciant poetry and things) and a former Queen's Bardic champion. Finally, for reasons best known the exalted personages who chose to grace him with the title, a Baron of their Majesties' court. He wears blue and silver a lot and is often seen carrying his guitar. Do not be fooled by his kind words or welcoming demeanor. He will write a song about you without the least provocation, and he will not be sorry.
