Lord Ibrahim ibn Musa bin Sulayman, al-Rashid.
'''Abu-Duruz Ibrahim ibn Musa bin Sulayman al-Rashid''', Laureate (he/him) currently lives in the Canton of Appleholm in the Crown Province of Ostgardr. Most of his partipation in the SCA has centered arround A&S related activities, including teaching. He views himself as primarily a sewist/tailor, though his most involved A&S research to date has been related to nalbinding. Ibrahim has also "dabbled" with numerous other fiber arts, cooking, historical medicine, and historical fencing.
Currently living in the Canton of Whyt Whey in the Crown Province of Ostgardr.

A note about names: While he is known to friends and close associates as Ibrahim, he took the honorific ''kunya'' Abu-Duruz on the occasion of receiving the Laurel.  In Arabic naming practices, a ''kunya'' is often granted by a person of authority and is used as a show of respect.  In formal settings, he may be referred to as Abu-Duruz.  If use of a title is needed, he usually uses "Laureate" but "Master", "Mu'allim", and "Maestro" are all acceptable.

A&S Projects

Ibrahim has cultivated many and varied interests over years in the Society. Ibrahim's primary interest in craft was sewing and the making of clothing. While his interests have focused on the history of the Iberian peninsula, he has explored the clothing of many times and places. In addition to sewing, Ibrahim has worked in nalbinding with a focus on the socks of Roman Egypt. He has dabbled in knitting and felt-making. Ibrahim also has an interest in the history of medicine, which has also led to research into dietetics and cooking in European and Middle-Eastern history.

Ibrahim's A&S Blog can be found at https://pius-ponderings.blogspot.com/. Below are links to the collected posts in two of his major areas of focus. Most recently he has had a research paper published in the East Kingdom Gazette, May 2020. He also recently won the "best dressed" portion of a "By the Book Rapier Tournement" at Pennsic in 2019 and the "elite" category at Artifacts of a Life in 2023.

In case of court

While not hugely opposed to suprises, Ibrahim would prefer some advance notice if he is to be called into court.
