Introduction
Gerhardt von Hohensee joined the Society in A.S. 47, and picked up the rapier in A.S. 51.
Although historians have managed to recover a page of Gerhardt's memoir, very little is known of this mysterious figure.
Excerpt from "A Criticism of Popular Dueling Methods"
There is a particular trende I have observed amongst the French youth, that of attacking an opponent's foote; and whilst occasionally successful (in a manner of speaking), I cannot recommend this method against any serious adversarie; or, for that matter, against anyone wearing shoes. For whilst a barefoote peasant may be prone to such pedary offense, a respectable master of the dueling arte will be quick to punish any cockamamie comportment.
Fencing Style
Evidence suggests that Gerhardt was a proponent of Italian methods.
