Lord Erdene Qadajin
I have been playing in the SCA since approximately 2010. I stumbled into Mongol cultural research after seeing some Mongols at Market Day of Birka, 2011, and have been running with and enamored by the challenges of researching the culture ever since.
Erdene was born in modern Xinjiang Province during the reign of Kublai Khan, Yuan Dynasty (13th c.) China. He is of Mongol descent, but has been heavily influenced by the Imperial Chinese throughout his life. This accounts for his eclectic collection of central Asian, Chinese, Mongol and Persian influences in clothing.
Generally speaking, I have been the quiet helper. Doing the running and helping behind the scenes and generally do not ask for nothing more than an on-site thank you. As a result, I don't have a specific event staff resume at present.
Projects & Publications
Mongol Titles for Awards (inspired by a Queen's Quest)
Continued work on the Grand Project of Mongol Material Culture based on Persian and Chinese portraiture
Classical and Middle Mongolian grammatical structures and mapping
(minor) Vegetarian recipes in Middle Ages Asia, focusing on Buddhist Temple food
Tracing and understanding the developments and mechanics of the Trade Routes through Period
I also have an ongoing research and garb blog: http://silkroadresearching.blogspot.com/
In case of Court, please do not surprise. As advanced warning as possible is needed to arrange travel to an event, and coordinate with supportive non-SCAdians who would come to see me awarded.
