Introduction

Title Name. SCA Biography. Selected Awards (the Wiki is not the place to do a full awards list).

Kay the Minstrel marshalled Count,Sir Bruce of Cloves' Coronation Tourney, at Clove Lake Park, on Staten Island, whilst wearing a guitar slung over his back. He wore a gown made for for him by Countess Adrienne of Toledo, First, and only, Queen, by appointment, of The EAST KINGDOM, and he carried a, roughly, seven foot staff to use as his marshalling baton. It is noteworthy that he borrowed a sword and created the three foot safety zone around the lists. The lists were in a former Horseshoe court but you still needed to keep the spectators a safe distance from the fence.

That was Elliot Shorter's first EK event. I had attended two(?) others as a spectator; the tournament, at World Con, where Bruce of Cloves was Knighted, the same World Con where Jon de Cles, THE RED BARON, and the SCA ran the Masquerade. I never expected to do much more than attend a few events while Bruce and Florence were on the throne and then return to my life as a college bookstore assistant manager and Science Fiction Fan. Then... Fred Phillips(Frederick of Feololldyn[sp] calle`d the Silent), came to visit me at work where he asked me, in the name of the Senechal Elfrida of Green Walls (Marion Zimmer Bradley), to take the job of treasurer for this fledgling kingdom. The rest, as they say, is history. This was, roughly, year .333 of The Laurel Kingdom Of The East.
