Ecaterina Amber of Tospenwood (called Amber) was Queen of the East (http://www.eastkingdom.org/EKRoyalHistory.html) from April 14, 1984 to Oct. 20, 1984. She was the second queen of Barak Hasdrubal.
Amber began her SCA career in the then-Principality of Trimaris in the early 1980s. She moved to the Barony of the Rhydderich Hael (Buffalo, NY), then part of the Western Region of the East Kingdom, in the early-mid 1980s to attend graduate school at the State University of NY at Buffalo.
Prior to becoming Princess, Amber was non-armigerous. She had been active in the Rhydderich Hael Singers and a regular attendee at archery practices.
After serving as Queen, Amber completed her graduate degree in Computer Sciences and found work in the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands (Pittsburgh, PA), where she had grown up. Her SCA participation waned over the years, though she still maintains friendship and occasional contact with SCA friends. Countess Amber stopped attending SCA events in the mid-1990s.
Mundanely, Amber became active in the Sweet Adelines, and credited her time with the Rhydderich Hael Singers with encouraging her interest in choral music.
Around 2010, Countess Amber and her husband moved to the Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C., where she has participated in the Vienne-Falls Chorus, a local chapter of Sweet Adelines. http://www.viennafalls.org/ and is also an active volunteer in wildlife rehabilitation with the Area Rehabbers Klub (http://www.arkofva.org/)
