Introduction

Baroness Doucette de Verdun resides in the East Kingdom and enjoys SCA Equestrian activities and serving as a retainer. She devotes most of her time in the SCA to equestrian activities, both marshaling and competing on her horse Squire Wilhelm (mka Willie). Her original interest in combining SCA and equestrian activities was sparked when her horse Sorel (mka Rugged Sting Ray) was injured and she used SCA Equestrian activities to keep him interested and happy during his rehabilitation.

Doucette also participates in sewing and fiber arts and occasionally helps with feasts.

Persona

Doucette hails from the northeastern (Alsace-Lorraine) region of France in the 14th century. Her family farms the fields outside the town of Verdun.

Doucette was a protege to Duchess Katherine Stanhope until August 27, 2016, when she was inducted into the Order of the Pelican.

Doucette has celiac disease (gluten intolerance) and is committed to trying to help others to meet the challenges of traveling, camping and feasting while avoiding gluten in their diets.

Together with her horse Squire Wilhelm, Doucette de Verdun claimed the honor of Queen's Equestrian Champion at King's and Queen's Equestrian Champions in 2008, and the honor of King's Equestrian Champion at at King's and Queen's Equestrian Champions in 2011.
