Introduction

Signora Cristina Volpina, aka Domina Iulia Crispina, joined the SCA while away at college in the summer of 2011. (She is not offended if you mismatch the name and the garb and will just be glad you remember either name! Culturally specific AoA-level titles are preferred, but Lady is also fine. Are you sure you even need to use her title, though? She's not very formal...).

Her first group, the Shire of Forth Castle (Meridies) will always be dear to her heart. She moved back to her homeland, the Barony of the Bridge, in autumn of 2012, and they are very much her people. She apprenticed to Countess Ianthe d'Averoigne in the winter of 2014, and is thus associated with Casa Magnifica. Both of them being mildly allergic to court and ceremonies, none was held, and the exact date is quite lost.

Unsurprisingly, A&S activities are her love, and many of her interests are textile centric. Her primary art is historical dyeing, and she has begun teaching this art. Besides textile arts, she also enjoys period cooking and volunteering in the kitchens at local events, as well as research into names and heraldry.

Persona

Cristina Volpina has gained cittadina status in 1560s-70s Venice through her marriage, but has inherited her father's estate outside Verona and holds it still, along with a few other small pieces of property between here and there, like a dyeworks. They are comfortable enough to afford little luxuries, though mostly secondhand. Cristina wishes she liked embroidering as much as she likes having embroidered things.

Iulia Crispina resides on her husband's luxurious secondary estate in the Fayum in Roman Egypt, late in Trajan's reign (c. 110-117 CE). She detests spinning and weaving, but will do it when she's supposed to look modest and chaste for the occasional visitors. She'd rather supervise the cooks and the dyers, or even help them (with the less odious parts of their jobs).
