Society Awards

Discretion of the Crown

Award of Arms Award of Arms Awards of Arms are given at the royalty's discretion for service or other significant contribution to the well-being of the Kingdom. The Armigerous Orders also convey an Award of Arms, if the recipient does not already bear a Patent, Grant, or Award of Arms.
Grant of Arms Grants of Arms may be given at Their Majesties' wish for distinguished and exceptional service. Grants are usually given to Greater and Lesser Officers of State (kingdom officers), and territorial and court barons and baronesses.
CourtBarony Court Barony The crown reserves the right to bestow the title "Court Baron" or "Court Baroness" upon those subjects who exemplify noble demeanor and whose contributions have enriched the Kingdom in unique ways.

Patent of Arms

Chivalry ChivMaster Order of the Chivalry The Order of the Chivalry is one of the SCA Bestowed Peerages. Companions of the Order of the Chivalry have been recognized by the Crown for their exemplary heavy list martial skills, along with their consistent display of the virtues of Grace, Courtesy and Chivalric Demeanor. Their elevation is accompanied by a Patent of Arms (the highest level of arms).
Companion of the Order of the Laurel Order of the Laurel The Order of the Laurel is one of the SCA Bestowed Peerages. Companions of the Order of the Laurel have been recognized by the Crown for their exemplary arts, along with their consistent display of the virtues of Grace, Courtesy and Chivalric Demeanor. Their elevation is accompanied by a Patent of Arms (the highest level of arms).
Companion of the Order of the Pelican Order of the Pelican The Order of the Pelican is one of the SCA Bestowed Peerages. Companions of the Order of the Pelican have been recognized by the Crown for their exemplary service to the Kingdom and/or the Society, along with their consistent display of the virtues of Grace, Courtesy and Chivalric Demeanor. Their elevation is accompanied by a Patent of Arms (the highest level of arms).
Companion of the Order of Defense Order of Defense The Order of Defense is one of the SCA Bestowed Peerages. Companions of the Order of Defense have been recognized by the Crown for their exemplary skill in rapier and cut and thrust combat, along with their consistent display of the virtues of Grace, Courtesy and Chivalric Demeanor. Their elevation is accompanied by a Patent of Arms (the highest level of arms).
Companion of the Order of the Rose Order of the Rose This award was created to grant those who had reigned as Consort equal rank with those who had reigned as Sovereign (who were, in the early days, offered Knighthood if they weren't before they won the tournament). In the East Kingdom, the Order of the Rose is a polling order. Former Consorts are polled by the current Heir-Consort to seek advice on whether the outgoing Consort should be admitted into the Order. Should the new inductee to the order not already be a peer in their own right, a Patent of Arms is included with the Rose.

Orders of High Merit

Companion of the Order of the Golden Lance Order of the Golden Lance of the East The Order of the Golden Lance may be given to gentles in the East Kingdom who have distinguished themselves by prowess in the equestrian lists and demonstrated service to the Kingdom in marshalling, teaching, and helping to promote and expand the knowledge of equestrian arts.
Companion of the Order of the Golden Mantle Order of the Golden Mantle The Order of the Golden Mantle may be given to gentles in the East Kingdom who have distinguished themselves by prowess in an auxiliary capacity on the field of battle and the target range, in the areas of Siege Weaponry, Scouting, Combat Archery, or Thrown Weaponry, and demonstrated service to the Kingdom in these areas by marshalling, commanding, building equipment, teaching, and helping to promote and expand the knowledge of these arts.
Companion of the Order of the Golden Rapier Order of the Golden Rapier The Order of the Golden Rapier may be given to gentles in the East Kingdom who have distinguished themselves by excellence in the rapier arts by consistently demonstrating superior prowess; and through demonstrated service to the rapier community, such as by marshaling, teaching, or promoting and expanding the knowledge of the rapier arts.
Companion of the Order of the Maunche Order of the Maunche The Order of the Maunche may be given to individuals who have distinguished themselves by dedication to the arts and sciences, whether by attaining a standard of excellence as makes them noteworthy in the eyes of the Kingdom or by attempting more than one art form and, while not attaining mastery in any one, surpassing competence in several.
Sagittarius Order of the Sagittarius The Order of the Sagittarius may be given to individuals who have shown superior prowess at the target archery range and have distinguished themselves in archery in one of the following areas: teaching and demonstrating the art of archery, making archery equipment or by helping to arrange archery at events and/or sites and thus demonstrating an overall impact to archery in the Kingdom.
Companion of the Order of the Silver Crescent Order of the Silver Crescent The Order of the Silver Crescent may be given to individuals who have distinguished themselves by service to the Kingdom, whether by long service within one of the areas of the Kingdom whereby the entire Kingdom is held to benefit, or by continuing service in ways which directly benefit a large portion of the Kingdom.
Companion of the Order of the Tygers Combattant Order of the Tygers Combattant The Order of the Tygers Combattant may be given to individuals who have distinguished themselves by prowess in armored combat, whether by attaining a standard of excellence such as makes them noteworthy in the eyes of the Kingdom or by attempting more than one weapons form and, while not attaining mastery in any one, surpassing competence in several; and through demonstrated service to the armored combat community, such as by marshaling, teaching, or promoting and expanding the knowledge of armored combat.

Companion of the Order of Apollo's Arrow Order of Apollo's Arrow The Order of Apollo's Arrow is given by the Crown for skill in the field of target archery.
Companion of the Order of the Silver Brooch Order of the Silver Brooch The Order of the Silver Brooch is given by the Crown for skill in the arts and/or sciences.
Companion of the Order of the Silver Mantle Order of the Silver Mantle The Order of the Silver Mantle is given by the Crown for martial skill on the field, range, or list, in the areas of equestrian, combat archery, thrown weapons, siege weaponry, scouting, and other martial arts as The Crown may determine.
Companion of the Order of the Silver Rapier Order of the Silver Rapier The Order of the Silver Rapier is given by the Crown for martial skill upon the Rapier Field, either in single combat or in melee combat.
Companion of the Order of the Silver Tyger Order of the Silver Tyger The Order of the Silver Tyger is given by the Crown for martial skill in the armored combat lists or on the field of melee combat.
Companion of the Order of the Silver Wheel Order of the Silver Wheel The Order of the Silver Wheel is given by the Crown for service that benefits the local group, Kingdom, or Society.

Orders of Honor

Sovereign's Order of Excellence Given by the Sovereign to those who maintain a high standard of authenticity in their dress, behavior, persona, and goods, in the feast hall, in their encampments, and on the field.
Companion of the Order of Gawain Order of Gawain The Order of Gawain may be awarded by The Crown to honor and recognize those young people, up to and including the age of 17, who have distinguished themselves by acts of valor, honor, chivalry, courtesy, and leadership within a youth martial activity.
Companion of the Order of Gilder Order of Gilder The Order of Gilder may be awarded by The Crown to honor and recognize those young people, up to and including the age of 17, who display or perform works of Arts & Sciences that manifest the spirit of the East Kingdom Arts.
Terpsichore Order of Terpsichore The Order of Terpsichore may be awarded to recognize a gentle's consistent and unselfish devotion of their talent to helping a great many others acquire a knowledge and understanding of dance and polite court movement.
Troubadour Order of the Troubadours The Order of the Troubadours may be awarded to recognize a gentle's vocal entertainment, and especially for encouraging others to join in or respond in kind. It may also be awarded to recognize a gentle's talent in performing and entertainment arts, like musical performance, theater, jestery, etc. This list is not exhaustive to leave room for other arts which may flourish as historical evidence and study will be furthered.
Companion of the Order of the Tygers Cub Order of the Tyger's Cub The Order of the Tyger's Cub is awarded to children under the age of eighteen who have displayed admirable virtue and decorum at events. Companions of the Order are entitled to act as pages to the Royalty and Heirs of the Kingdom until they reach the age of eighteen.
Companion of the Order of the Tyger's Eye Order of the Tyger's Eye The Tyger’s Eye may be awarded by the Crown to recognize youth of the East Kingdom whose exemplary service, contribution, and achievement to the kingdom have distinguished them in the eyes of the Crown.
Queen's Order of Courtesy Consort's Order of Courtesy The Consort's Order of Courtesy may be awarded by the Consort to such gentles as the Consort deems worthy by reason of their consistently exemplary courtesy to gentles of all ranks in the East Kingdom and the Society at large.
Tyger of the East Tyger of the East The Tyger of the East may be awarded by The Crown to the individual who most embodies and personifies the ideals of the East Kingdom. During any one reign, no more than one individual will be bestowed with the Tyger of the East. An individual may be recognized in this way no more than once.

Other Awards

Augmentation of Arms The Augmentation of Arms may be awarded by The Crown to honor a person for service to the Kingdom or specifically to the Royalty. Each augmentation is specific to the individual awarded, to be added to his/her arms following consultation with the Brigantia Principal Herald. This honor is infrequently granted.
Award of the Burdened Tyger The Award of the Burdened Tyger may be awarded by the Crown to those gentles associated with running an event or an aspect of an event which the Crown feels was well above the normal standard of excellence in the East Kingdom.
Blue Tyger Legion Blue Tyger Legion The Blue Tyger Legion may be awarded by The Crown to groups who have demonstrated exceptional martial prowess on the field. No more than one group may be inducted into the Legion during any one reign.
Company of Fellowship The Company of Fellowship may be awarded by The Crown once per reign to a recognized branch within the East Kingdom, below the kingdom or principality level, which displays an exceptional level of unity while promoting the ideals of the Kingdom and the Society.
Company of Morpheus The Company of Morpheus may be given to those who aid in creating a more immersive experience for event attendees through their work in stage dressing, set and lighting design, and photography.
Company of the Pennon of the East The Company of the Pennon of the East may be awarded by the King and Queen to any East Kingdom gentle that has demonstrated exceptional martial prowess on the field, field support, staff, or other gentles who support the East Kingdom at events held in another Kingdom.
Award of the Golden Lyre Gift of the Golden Lyre Given to an individual or group whose single work or performance, either displayed publicly or in an arts & sciences display at a Royal Progress, in The Crown's sole opinion and discretion, manifests and represents the fire and passion of the East Kingdom arts.
Sovereign's Award of Esteem The Sovereign’s Award of Esteem may be awarded by the Sovereign, for any reason they deem worthy; to acknowledge special merit in an act, a series of acts, or general behavior that is not already properly recognized by other East Kingdom awards. This award will be given solely at the Sovereign’s discretion.
Sovereign's Cypher Sovereign's Cypher The Sovereign's Cypher is given by the Sovereign to recognize those subjects of the East Kingdom who have distinguished themselves by providing exceptional service to the Sovereign. This Order may be awarded by the Sovereign to whomever the Sovereign deems deserving. The Sovereign may give no more than ten Cyphers during a reign, nor will the Sovereign feel required to award any at all, if none are clearly meritorious.
Order of Valor of the East The Order of Valor of the East may be awarded by The Crown to honor individual members of the armies of the East Kingdom who have distinguished themselves by displaying extraordinary command excellence or extraordinary actions of valor on the battlefield at an Inter-Kingdom War. The Order of Valor of the East may be awarded no more than three times during any one reign.
Consort's Award of Esteem The Consort's Award of Esteem may be awarded by the Consort, for any reason they deem worthy, in order to recognize an act, a series of acts, or general behavior that is not already properly recognized by other East Kingdom awards. This award will be given solely at the Consort’s discretion.
Consort's Cypher Consort's Cypher The Consort's Cypher is given by the Consort to recognize those subjects of the East Kingdom who have distinguished themselves by providing exceptional service to the Consort. This Order may be awarded by the Consort to whomever the Consort deems deserving. The Consort may award no more than ten Consort's Cyphers during any one Reign; nor will They feel required to award any at all, if none are clearly meritorious.
