Society Awards

Discretion of the Crown

	Award of Arms	Awards of Arms are given at the royalty's discretion for service or other significant contribution to the well-being of the Kingdom. The Armigerous Orders also convey an Award of Arms, if the recipient does not already bear a Patent, Grant, or Award of Arms.
	Grant of Arms	Grants of Arms may be given at Their Majesties' wish for distinguished and exceptional service. Grants are usually given to Greater and Lesser Officers of State (kingdom officers), and territorial and court barons and baronesses.
	Court Barony	The crown reserves the right to bestow the title "Court Baron" or "Court Baroness" upon those subjects who exemplify noble demeanor and whose contributions have enriched the Kingdom in unique ways.

Patent of Arms

	Order of the Chivalry	The Order of the Chivalry is one of the SCA Bestowed Peerages. Companions of the Order of the Chivalry have been recognized by the Crown for their exemplary heavy list martial skills, along with their consistent display of the virtues of Grace, Courtesy and Chivalric Demeanor. Their elevation is accompanied by a Patent of Arms (the highest level of arms).
	Order of the Laurel	The Order of the Laurel is one of the SCA Bestowed Peerages. Companions of the Order of the Laurel have been recognized by the Crown for their exemplary arts, along with their consistent display of the virtues of Grace, Courtesy and Chivalric Demeanor. Their elevation is accompanied by a Patent of Arms (the highest level of arms).
	Order of the Pelican	The Order of the Pelican is one of the SCA Bestowed Peerages. Companions of the Order of the Pelican have been recognized by the Crown for their exemplary service to the Kingdom and/or the Society, along with their consistent display of the virtues of Grace, Courtesy and Chivalric Demeanor. Their elevation is accompanied by a Patent of Arms (the highest level of arms).
	Order of Defense	The Order of Defense is one of the SCA Bestowed Peerages. Companions of the Order of Defense have been recognized by the Crown for their exemplary skill in rapier and cut and thrust combat, along with their consistent display of the virtues of Grace, Courtesy and Chivalric Demeanor. Their elevation is accompanied by a Patent of Arms (the highest level of arms).
	Order of the Rose	This award was created to grant those who had reigned as Consort equal rank with those who had reigned as Sovereign (who were, in the early days, offered Knighthood if they weren't before they won the tournament). In the East Kingdom, the Order of the Rose is a polling order. Former Consorts are polled by the current Heir-Consort to seek advice on whether the outgoing Consort should be admitted into the Order. Should the new inductee to the order not already be a peer in their own right, a Patent of Arms is included with the Rose.

East Kingdom Awards

Orders of High Merit

	Order of the Golden Lance of the East	The Order of the Golden Lance may be given to gentles in the East Kingdom who have distinguished themselves by prowess in the equestrian lists and demonstrated service to the Kingdom in marshalling, teaching, and helping to promote and expand the knowledge of equestrian arts.
	Order of the Golden Mantle	The Order of the Golden Mantle may be given to gentles in the East Kingdom who have distinguished themselves by prowess in an auxiliary capacity on the field of battle and the target range, in the areas of Siege Weaponry, Scouting, Combat Archery, or Thrown Weaponry, and demonstrated service to the Kingdom in these areas by marshalling, commanding, building equipment, teaching, and helping to promote and expand the knowledge of these arts.
	Order of the Golden Rapier	The Order of the Golden Rapier may be given to gentles in the East Kingdom who have distinguished themselves by excellence in the rapier arts by consistently demonstrating superior prowess; and through demonstrated service to the rapier community, such as by marshaling, teaching, or promoting and expanding the knowledge of the rapier arts.
	Order of the Maunche	The Order of the Maunche may be given to individuals who have distinguished themselves by dedication to the arts and sciences, whether by attaining a standard of excellence as makes them noteworthy in the eyes of the Kingdom or by attempting more than one art form and, while not attaining mastery in any one, surpassing competence in several.
	Order of the Sagittarius	The Order of the Sagittarius may be given to individuals who have shown superior prowess at the target archery range and have distinguished themselves in archery in one of the following areas: teaching and demonstrating the art of archery, making archery equipment or by helping to arrange archery at events and/or sites and thus demonstrating an overall impact to archery in the Kingdom.
	Order of the Silver Crescent	The Order of the Silver Crescent may be given to individuals who have distinguished themselves by service to the Kingdom, whether by long service within one of the areas of the Kingdom whereby the entire Kingdom is held to benefit, or by continuing service in ways which directly benefit a large portion of the Kingdom.
	Order of the Tygers Combattant	The Order of the Tygers Combattant may be given to individuals who have distinguished themselves by prowess in armored combat, whether by attaining a standard of excellence such as makes them noteworthy in the eyes of the Kingdom or by attempting more than one weapons form and, while not attaining mastery in any one, surpassing competence in several; and through demonstrated service to the armored combat community, such as by marshaling, teaching, or promoting and expanding the knowledge of armored combat.
