Altani Khatagidai (she/her in persona, they/them mundanely) - I started playing with the Barony of Stonemarche during and after college, after having joined a fraternity with a bunch of like-minded folks. I have been known to make the occasional scroll for the East Kingdom as well as for Stonemarche, and I try to pitch in otherwise at events where time and spoons permit. I live in central Vermont with [[Joris de Tolosa]] and two beloved houserabbits, and I can be found at many events mostly within the Northern and Central Regions (though I do sometimes make it further afield). | |||

Born and raised on the windswept Mongolian plains, Altani was intrigued by the introduction of a writing system, adapted from that of the Uyghurs for use among her own people, to the Mongol Empire in the early thirteenth century. Appreciating the beauty of script and the significance of record-keeping, she journeyed throughout the Empire and beyond, encountering examples of calligraphy and illumination across countless cultures and studying their various provenances and productions. After eventually finding her way to the East Kingdom, she was introduced to many learned and talented scribes, among them [[Harold von Auerbach]], who graciously took her on as an apprentice of the scribal arts in ASXLIII. Altani currently resides in the Shire of Panther Vale, having exchanged golden sand and steppe for verdant field and forest, but always at home beneath the Eternal Blue Sky. | |||
