Aleksandr's father is a boyar who attends on Ivan Vasilyevich (called "The Terrible" later in history). Fearing for his son's life, Ruslan attached him to an embassy to the court of Elizabeth I of England, whom Ivan wishes to marry. Aleksandr spends his time traveling slowly from Moscow to London and back. In London, he pays court to an Englishwoman named Morwenna Westerne. In his travels he has managed to acquire a Hindu devadashi named Lakshmi Amman, but whether she is a servant, a concubine, or a traveling companion is unclear.

Aleksandr is a Master of the Order of the Laurel for storytelling and was made a court baron by Kelson and Genviere. He was awarded a Grant of Arms by Brion and Anna. He is also a Companion of the Manche and a Companion of the Troubadour, holds King’s Cyphers from Timothy II and Brion, is a member of the King’s Order of Excellence and a Companion of the Burdened Tyger. He is Principal of the Carolingian Order of the Moon, and Companion of the Daystar (Carolingia).
