Introduction

The Honorable Lady Ajir Tsagaan (The White Heron)

Best known for writing & performing Music of the Modern Middle Ages, as well as Pyrography and other Visual Arts.

Ajir has been in the Society since 1990. Active mainly in Caid until 2014, Ajir was known there as Red Lórien of Oak River (Caidan OP #723). She has been active in the East Kingdom since 2018.

Persona

The White Heron is a Sixteenth Century Mongol woman, living in Isfahan, Persia. She is a Noble Landowner, a Horse Lord, and Patron of the House of the Lotus. She maintains a small force of soldiers in the city to guard her Estates and the House of the Lotus.

When not at her Isfahan Estates, Ajir resides in her fortress in the Caspian Hyrcanian Forest Region. She has a large library with works collected from around the world, and is a scholar of great enthusiasm. She composes and performs works of music and poetry, and fanciful stories of legendary places and heroes.

  • WRITING: Brainstorming (MindMapping, Idea Organization, Creative Practices, and how to break through writer's block) (hands-on, class needs blackboard/whiteboard or large paper (18"x24" or >; requires prep time and handouts)

  • CRAFTING: Wood Finishing for Artists (choosing the right finish - natural/oiled/polyurethane/lacquer, how not to ruin your decorative work, ink/pigment/stain/paint choice, allergies/food-use/safety, storage, color-fastness, when to wing it and when to do more research, selected resources) (lecture/discussion; requires prep time & handouts)

New Interests

After an eon or three as Red Lórien, Ajir is changing personas in 2018. Moving from Generic Early Irish/Viking to quite specific Early Sixteenth Century Mongol living in Safavid Persia is quite a jump, so any Mongol or Persian resources would be greatly appreciated. Specific interests include, but are certainly not limited to:
