Introduction
Rebekah Wallace is a 16th century English woman living mostly near London. She enjoys telling tales of England, whether in story, poetry or the occasional song.
Rebekah joined the SCA in 2002. Her first event was War of the Roses in Concordia of the Snows. Since then, she has fallen in with the Vestfell Farmstead and has been glad she has done so.
She was given her AoA at Bjorn's Ceilidh by King Lucan and Queen Jana. Her Troubador was awarded to her by King Gryffith and Queen Aikaterine, also at a Bjorn's Ceilidh.
Rebekah is also apprenticed to Master Grim the Skald, learning to better her stories, poetry and songs. She looks forward to her apprenticeship, however apprehensively. At least she can get up to some interesting things with her apprentice-sister, Mhari Brewbane.
Persona
Rebekah was born early in the reign of Henry VIII, probably in 1510 or 1511 (being only a girl, her birth date wasn't regarded as very important). Her family is of the landed gentry, with a home in London and a country estate. As an only daughter, Rebekah has been indulged in her education, learning how to read and write as well as music, cordial making and some spinning.
Outwardly, Rebekah conforms to the Catholic faith. However, due to acquiring Tyndale's pamphlet, "The Obedience of the Common Man," she privately adheres to Reformist ideals.
As with many others in England, Rebekah signed the Oath to Act of Succession, recognizing Henry VIII's marriage to Anne Boleyn. With this marriage, Rebekah not only hoped for reforms of the church (she had heard rumors of Anne Boleyn's Reformist views) and for the hoped for male heir. She was quite shocked at Boleyn's fall two years later and subsequently left London to pursue a better Christian life elsewhere.
